Robert Rikard
BIOGRAPHY
Robert Rikard has litigated complex civil and criminal cases across the United States since 1997. Robert focuses his practice on complex litigation, including Indexed Universal Life (IUL) insurance litigation, catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, and investment/securities fraud. He has become a leading authority in IUL litigation, with financial professionals, attorneys, and victims nationwide seeking his trusted advice. Robert has litigated hundreds of IUL cases in jurisdictions across the country, holding insurance companies and their agents accountable for deceptive sales practices. Recently, Robert successfully tried an IUL case to verdict against one of the largest IUL carriers in the country, securing justice for his client after the insurer’s agent misrepresented the policy as an investment and retirement solution.
Robert has served on MDL steering committees and as lead counsel in numerous class actions around the country. He has tried to verdict cases involving Indexed Universal Life claims, wrongful death, tractor-trailer accidents, medical malpractice, and business litigation matters. His skills as a litigator and creative problem solver enable him to serve clients in a dynamic and impactful way. In recent years, Robert has recovered more than 100 million dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients.
Robert grew up in Sumter, South Carolina, the son of a court reporter and a career law enforcement officer. Through his parents’ example, he learned the value of service to others. His passion for law stems from a deep respect for the justice system and a desire to help those in need. Robert, his wife Allyson, and their children reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
